Location: Deltaville, VA

About the Role

This technician plays a key role in electrical troubleshooting, new-boat commissioning, system installations, and modern electronics integration across Jeanneau, Bennington, Saffier, and late-model cruising vessels.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Systems

  • Diagnose and repair 12V/24V DC systems
  • Work on AC shore-power, panels, GFCIs, and isolation transformers
  • Install inverters, chargers, alternators, switches, and distribution equipment
  • Troubleshoot voltage drop, corrosion, bonding, grounding issues
  • Perform battery testing, installation, and load analysis
  • Ensure all work adheres to ABYC E-11 standards

Electronics & Navigation

  • Install and service GPS, radar, AIS, VHF, autopilot, MFDs
  • Build and troubleshoot NMEA 2000 networks
  • Update firmware, calibrate sensors, verify performance
  • Support new-boat commissioning and customer orientation

Qualifications

Required

  • 2+ years marine electrical/electronics experience
  • Strong knowledge of 12V/24V DC systems
  • Experience with marine electronics + NMEA networks
  • Ability to read electrical diagrams
  • Proven diagnostic ability
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work in tight spaces

Preferred

  • ABYC Electrical Certification
  • NMEA MEI or Advanced MEI
