About the Role
This technician plays a key role in electrical troubleshooting, new-boat commissioning, system installations, and modern electronics integration across Jeanneau, Bennington, Saffier, and late-model cruising vessels.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Systems
- Diagnose and repair 12V/24V DC systems
- Work on AC shore-power, panels, GFCIs, and isolation transformers
- Install inverters, chargers, alternators, switches, and distribution equipment
- Troubleshoot voltage drop, corrosion, bonding, grounding issues
- Perform battery testing, installation, and load analysis
- Ensure all work adheres to ABYC E-11 standards
Electronics & Navigation
- Install and service GPS, radar, AIS, VHF, autopilot, MFDs
- Build and troubleshoot NMEA 2000 networks
- Update firmware, calibrate sensors, verify performance
- Support new-boat commissioning and customer orientation
Qualifications
Required
- 2+ years marine electrical/electronics experience
- Strong knowledge of 12V/24V DC systems
- Experience with marine electronics + NMEA networks
- Ability to read electrical diagrams
- Proven diagnostic ability
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work in tight spaces
Preferred
- ABYC Electrical Certification
- NMEA MEI or Advanced MEI
